Thesis on the symbolism of Tolkien

"elves, hobbits and dragons: an investigation into the symbolism of Tolkien"

Tolkien's work goes beyond being a mere fantasy storytelling ( Harry Potter, for example). It found high metaphysical, philosophical and religious. So much so that now a little over 10 years, Ricardo Irigoyen made a deep study of the work of the distinguished British writer for the dissertation. The work, entitled elves, hobbits and dragons: an investigation into the symbolism of Tolkien (Buenos Aires, 1999) brings us closer to Tolkien's conception of the cosmos, man and the Creator to note the deep faith of the author of The Hobbit. Irigaray discusses also the relationship between literature and various tolkiana fundamental mysteries of the Christian faith exposed or discussed by the author. For fans of Tolkien and the tireless seekers of new knowledge is recommended reading for this thesis in 1996 at the University of Navarra.
